How It Works:
You’ll choose:
Their Vibe: Choose the kind of story your kid usually gravitates toward—or mix it up!
Girl – Sparkly, silly, or heartfelt reads with strong female leads, magical moments, and lessons about kindness, friendship, and courage.
Boy – Action-packed, funny, or brave reads featuring heroic adventures, goofy characters, or quests with heart.
Neutral – Great for siblings, gift-givers, or kids who like a little bit of everything. These stories include animals, nature, humor, and adventures any child can enjoy.
Their Age or Reading Level: Helps me choose the right reading level and story depth for your child.
3–5 – Sweet picture books and read-alouds with simple messages and gentle pacing. Perfect for preschoolers or bedtime stories.
5–7 – Early readers and beginner chapter books with short sentences, fun illustrations, and easy-to-follow stories.
7–9 – Independent reading or read-together chapter books with exciting plots, relatable characters, and themes of growing up.
9–11 – Middle-grade reads with stronger narratives, deeper lessons, and more complex characters—great for developing readers.

Why This Exists
I didn’t plan on doing this. At first, blind date books for kids didn’t feel very Brass & Bone.
But then I started looking through the books—my childhood books. The ones that got me through. The ones I’ve kept for decades, or that my little sister grew up loving too. I realized: life didn’t give me much, but it gave me books. And they saved me, shaped me, and carried me through things I couldn’t name at the time.
Now, I want to pass that kind of joy on—book by book, wrap by wrap.
Because the next generation deserves magic too.
